Arsenal Won’t Win 2023/2024 Premier League Trophy, Says Mourinho

Jose Mourinho, the manager of AS Roma, thinks that Arsenal is not the clear favorite to win the English Premier League in 2023–2024.

The Gunners have been playing well lately even if they lost to Unai Emery’s Aston Villa team, that unexpected dark horse.

Gabrile Jesu and Kai Havertz scored goals for Mikel Arteta’s team as they comfortably defeated Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, moving them one point clear of Liverpool, who faced a resolute Manchester United team on Sunday.

In spite of these displays, Mourinho dismissed the 2003–04 winners when asked which of the three teams he thought had the best chance of winning the English premier league on The Obi One Podcast.

“Man City 51% [chance of winning the league] and Liverpool 49% [chance of winning the league].”

When Arsenal was brought into the conversation, the Portuguese retorted with a blunt: “Nah.”

Honestly, rivalry apart, I would like them to win,’ he said.

He was equally dismissive of the two clubs he managed as potential title contenders.

‘Of course, Chelsea and Man United are not going to win it. Out of these three, I would be happy for Arsenal to do it. I would be really happy for them to break that thing.

‘It is because when the cumulation of matches starts coming, Man City have two teams,.’ he said.

Last season, Arsenal was on track to win the league, but a few draws and a few lost chances gave City the advantage.

Although they are known for drawing with Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Palace, and for shockingly losing to Aston Villa, Pep Guardiola’s club has found it difficult to be consistent.
