Angel Reese, the top player on the LSU women’s basketball team, has signed a name, image, and likeness deal with Reebok and will be the company’s next brand ambassador. This comes just a few weeks after Shaquille O’Neal was elected president of Reebok Basketball, marking his first major endorsement contract as president.
Reese explained the origins of the collaboration, saying, “Well, it started off by talking to Shaq and understanding the values that align with the brand.”
“As a former athlete, now that he’s been announced as their President of Basketball, that’s inspiring to me; just seeing an athlete or former athlete shift from being an athlete to being the president of the brand is important.” “I would love to do that one day,” she told Fox Business.
According to the Baltimore Banner, Reese is Reebok’s first major NIL signing. The 21-year-old expressed excitement about the arrangement, emphasizing her joy in working with a fellow LSU star like O’Neal. “It feels great; Shaq is a lot of fun!” I adore him, and he has always been extremely supportive of me and everything I’ve done.”
“Even if I didn’t work for Reebok, he’d still be there for me, and our relationship has always been fantastic.” Everything is so much fun, and what player wouldn’t want feedback from one of the greatest big men of all time?!”
In addition to releasing the Reese range of sneakers and sportswear, Reebok made the announcement. In turn, O’Neal welcomed the LSU great, stating, “For my first appointment in this role, it had to be the GOAT.” Angel Reese is having the greatest impact on the game right now.”
According to Girls United, Reese will be included in campaigns, including one for her brand, which is set to premiere in 2024. Reese and Reebok will also work together to support the Angel C. Reese Foundation, an initiative dedicated to empowering women and girls through financial literacy, education, and sports.
Reese is optimistic that this work will result in opportunities for future student-athletes.
“I want girls everywhere to believe that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve these things.” “Be yourself and don’t put yourself in a box,” she said.
Reese is currently one of the most well-known college basketball players. She helped LSU overcome Iowa and Caitlin Clark in the final game earlier this year.
