American Rapper, Snoop Dogg Almost Filed for Bankruptcy

American rapper, songwriter, actor, and businessman Snoop Dogg. His adaptability has made him a popular figure both domestically and internationally. Millionaire musician, rapper, and music producer Dr. Dre found him, which launched his musical career.

Many of the iconic rap songs were released by him under Death Row Records. Following its 1993 release, Doggystyle became the number one album on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.

Snoop has pursued a career in film in addition to music, acting in and producing a number of motion pictures. Additionally, he began to endorse products for companies like Orbit Gum, Boost Mobile, Chrysler 200, and St. Ides.

In addition to other business endeavors, the rapper’s prowess behind the mic has also made him a multimillionaire, positioning him among the highest paid individuals in the business. Snoop’s estimated net worth, based on conjecture from multiple sources, is $150 million, derived from his revenues in music, endorsement deals, and other businesses in which he has invested.

His initial business endeavor was a line of pet clothing called Snoop Doggie Doggs. He is also the founder of Casa Verde Capital, one of the first venture capital organizations to concentrate on the cannabis sector.The rapper, who recently debuted his first brand, Snoop Cali Red, is also an investor in wine.

The rapper who later became an entrepreneur did not have an easy journey to fame. During an interview with the podcast “Business Untitled,” Snoop Dogg talked about how some of his business choices and decisions nearly led to his bankruptcy.

“It was times in my career where it got so bad where my accountant was like, ‘We should just do bankruptcy,’” he recounted. “And my pride got involved, like f—k that. If I say bankruptcy, then I look like I f—ked off everything.”

“They started telling me, ‘Well, this artist did it and this person did it.’ I said, ‘None of them muthafuckas Black! You ain’t name nobody that look like me!’

He added: “They can do that shit and get back in the game and it won’t look crazy. When we do it, ‘Oh, that n-gga fucked off his money, he ain’t shit.’ So now we gotta start three feet behind the line again.”

Snoop believes that there should be more teaching of financial literacy in schools, especially among athletes.

“You got these athletes, you teaching them how to run routes, how to dunk, do interviews and convert into analysts after they finish their career; how about teaching them to be businessmen at the end of their career?”
