To be eligible to receive the scholarship, the graduating student must be a descendant of an Albany High School graduate or a student that went to Albany School up to the senior year but did not graduate for some reason.

The scholarships are to honor the memory of Octa Gillogly who taught at Albany for many years.

Any graduating student, regardless of school, is eligible to apply for the scholarship. So long as they are the descendant of an Albany graduate or a long-term student prior to 1966.
