Evelyn Foulkner, a 72-year-old African American grandmother from Atlanta, won two medals at her maiden bodybuilding competition, impressing everyone with her performance.
Even though professional bodybuilding wasn’t originally on her bucket list, Foulkner chose to push herself and take on this new challenge.
“I decided I needed to take it to another level and challenge myself,” Foulkner told Fox 5 Atlanta.
Evelyn, a regular at the gym for years, started preparing for the competition 6 months ago. She focused on strengthening her weaker muscles and followed a high-protein diet with some cheat meals.
She recently competed in the bikini division at the Super Natural Body Federation Bodybuilding and Fitness Competition in Lawrenceville. Her dedication paid off, as she finished third in both the beginner and masters classes.
Her relatives encouraged her and mentioned that she was a fan favorite. Following the ceremony, several people lined up to take photos with her, expressing how much she had inspired them.
