11 Scholarships in Australia for International Students 2024-2025

The Australian Government and Australian universities offer a considerable number of scholarships to international students wishing to study in Australia. HowAfrica compiles a list of the best Australian scholarships available to overseas students studying at Australian universities.

1. Australia Awards Scholarships

Australia prizes Scholarships, previously known as Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), are long-term development prizes administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They enable persons from developing nations, particularly those in the Indo-Pacific area, to pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutes. Scholarship advantages often include complete tuition costs, return plane tickets, establishment allowance, contribution to living expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC), and so on.

2. Destination Australia Scholarships

The Australian Government offers the Destination Australia scholarship program, which encourages both Australian and international students to study in regional Australia. Over 1000 $15,000 scholarships will be awarded each year to cover the study and living expenses associated with pursuing a Certificate IV to Doctorate level qualification at a rural campus of an eligible Australian university.

3. Australia Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships

Griffith University is offering the Griffith Remarkable Scholarship to excellent candidates seeking undergraduate and postgraduate coursework study at Griffith University. The scholarship covers 50% of tuition fees, which will be deducted from the total tuition for the duration of the program.

7. University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships

The University of Melbourne developed the Graduate Research Scholarship, which is offered to high-achieving local and international research students. Tuition fee waivers, living allowances, relocation grants, and international student health insurance are among the scholarship benefits.

8. Adelaide Global Excellence Scholarships for International Students

9. Flinders International Postgraduate Scholarships

10. Charles Darwin University Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships

Charles Darwin University provides a limited number of 25-50% tuition fee scholarships to international students with a track record of academic excellence and high success who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at CDU.


11. UNSW International Scholarships

UNSW provides a variety of Scholarships & Awards to help international undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students begin full-time studies at UNSW. Some scholarships cover the entire or a portion of your tuition fees, while others grant a stipend to help with study-related expenses.
