Westborough Education Foundation Awards Two $500 Scholarships

 

The Westborough Education Foundation has awarded its two WEF Scholarships to Westborough High graduates Brooke Oberlee and Gavin Grattan-Small.

 

Oberlee intends to study biomedical engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, while Grattan-Small will attend Assumption University.

 

The scholarships were established for Westborough High School students who have showed outstanding leadership characteristics, an enthusiasm for study, and creativity and innovation. These scholarships are awarded to students who go “above and beyond” and embody the spirit and objectives of the World Economic Forum.

The Westborough Education Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to promoting quality and innovation in Westborough Public Schools. WEF is committed to funding projects and programs that broaden educational possibilities, encourage and stimulate innovation, and improve the quality of academic experiences for Westborough students.

 

WEF also supports academic programs at all levels of school in a variety of subjects such as math, science, reading, the arts, technology, history, and physical education. These awards enable teachers and administrators to create and implement innovative activities that would not otherwise be funded by the school budget.
