US: Two Men Arrested in MCSO Credit Card Skimmer Investigation

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office got information from ESL Federal Credit Union on March 24, 2023, that suspects were attempting to put a skimmer device in the ATM at 2550 East Henrietta Road.

The major crimes section has been looking into a crime pattern involving credit card skimmers installed on ATMs throughout New York State. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered two males and a juvenile who matched the description given to them by ESL.

Deputies arrested the males and questioned them. Radeck Bohdan, 31, of the Czech Republic, and Danut V. Urseiu, 30, of Romania, were identified as the men by investigators. The adolescent is a 17-year-old Romanian national.

Urseiu is accused with forged instrument possession, criminal mischief, conspiracy, and unauthorized possession of a skimmer device.

Urseiu was taken to Henrietta Town Court for arraignment and then released to Pre-Trial Services. Urseiu was then detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement due to his non-citizen status.

Bohdan was charged with criminal mischief and conspiracy, and was freed after receiving an appearance ticket.

The juvenile was released with no charges.
