The US rapper Kodak Black was detained in South Florida on Thursday on “cocaine possession charges.”
According to the Associated Press, the rapper, born Bill Kapri, was listed as an inmate in the Broward County jail on Thursday.
According to the jail records, Black was accused with inappropriately “stopping or parking his vehicle, cocaine possession, and tampering with evidence” by the plantation police.
A police officer observed a black Bentley SUV parked in the 600 block of Northwest 47th Terrace.
Black was claimed to be asleep in the driver’s seat when the officer approached the SUV. “A strong odor of burnt cannabis” was stated to be coming from the vehicle.
“The officer opened the SUV’s door and shut it off. Inside was a cup in the door that smelled of alcohol, along with cannabis wrapping paper and suspect cannabis residue in the center console,” a police arrest report added.
According to NBC Miami, the rapper was released from police detention on Thursday night.
This is not the first time Black has had a run-in with the cops.
The rapper was arrested in 2022 on opioid trafficking and possession of a controlled narcotic without a prescription charges.
However, he was released on a $75,000 bail. His release was contingent on regular drug tests.
On his final full day as President of the United States in January 2021, Donald Trump gave pardons and commutations to Black and hundreds of others.
In November 2019, Kapri was sentenced to more than three years in jail after pleading guilty to a guns possession charge.
The 26-year-old singer gained initial recognition following the release of his 2014 song ‘No Flockin’.
