US: Mt. Blue High School Grad Receives Garden Club Scholarship

The Mt. Blue Area Garden Club has selected Moriah Reusch, a 2023 Mt. Blue High School graduate, to win this year’s honor scholarship.

Reusch, a member of the National Honor Society with a passion for the environment, aspires to attend Carleton College in Minnesota this fall to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies.

Growing up in Western Maine, Reusch acquired a passion for the outdoors and a strong desire to safeguard the environment. Hiking, canoeing, Nordic skiing, cross-country running, and supporting her parents with their geological studies are among her many interests.

Her commitment and leadership at the nexus of science and environmental preservation may be seen in her work with the Sunrise Movement, Inspiring Girls Expeditions, and a variety of other organizations.

Members of the Mt. Blue Area Garden Club met Reusch at their most recent private garden tour in July.

Every year, the Mt. Blue Area Garden Club grants scholarships to graduating seniors from local high schools who want to pursue horticulture, botany, forestry, agriculture, ecology, hydrology, ecological preservation, landscaping, masonry, natural resource management, and other gardening-related studies.
