The Madea actor’s kind deed will help about 300 low-income elderly residents in Atlanta who owe unpaid property taxes. The money will also be used to pay school, county, and city taxes. Also, Perry will cover any tax hikes for 100 senior low-income homeowners for the following 20 years.

Since then, the honorable actor has donated $750,000 for the first year. According to The Associated Press, the money will be used to cover taxes and any increases in property taxes. Additionally, Perry committed to set aside $500,000 per year for the following four years to shield citizens from such taxes.

Following Perry’s inclusion in Forbes’ list of the top ten highest-paid artists worldwide for the second consecutive year, the donation was announced. Perry is the first Black entertainer to do so. According to Forbes, Perry made $175 million in 2022 from his movies, BET TV series, and his Atlanta production lot. On Forbes’ list of the highest-paid entertainers, he is ranked third.

According to the top publication, the top 10 earners this year brought in $1.35 billion, which is roughly half as much as the top 10, which included Jay-Z, “Ye” West, and Bruce Springsteen, from the previous year. The only two individuals from last year’s list to reappear this year were Perry and South Park founders Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
