Paul Brunson is a content creator and entrepreneur who began his career in obscurity. As a vlogger, he received only 11 views, but he persisted in producing more captivating videos.
Unbeknownst to him, Oprah Winfrey, one of the most influential global Black celebrities, was among the few people who watched his videos. When Winfrey was doing pro bono matchmaking, he met Brunson through one of his previous clients.
Winfrey was launching a new TV show at the time and wanted a new voice on the show. After watching a few of Brunson’s videos, she had no hesitation in selecting him as the best candidate for the project.
He became a co-host of OWN’s “Lovetown, USA,” a TV reality documentary. “Paul is much more than a matchmaker, he’s a life coach,” Winfrey said in the past.
Brunson is now one of the most powerful matchmakers and an expert for “Married at First Sight UK,” a love-matching television show on UK Channel Four. According to Metro, the TV show is set to become Channel 4’s most successful show in 2022 after completely dominating the ratings following its dramatic seventh season.
Experts Brunson, Charlene Douglas, and Mel Schilling pair total strangers together on the show.
“The series, which saw just one couple, Jenna Robinson and Zoe Clifton, leave the experiment together, amassed a whopping 51.7million views on All 4’s streaming platform, making it the network’s biggest hit in 2022,” according to Metro.
Brunson, 48, has a degree in business and launched his own matchmaking firm the PCB Agency in 2009. He describes himself as “the world’s most influential matchmaker” on his website.
According to the Sun, “[Brunson] is best known for his role as a love doctor on Celebs Go Dating and bestselling book ‘It’s Complicated (But It Doesn’t Have to Be): A Modern Guide to Finding and Keeping Love’”.

Brunson has appeared on Good Morning America, The TODAY Show, and The Wendy Williams Show, in addition to the Oprah Winfrey Network. The entrepreneur and television host is married and has two sons, Liam and Kingston. He met Jill while studying at Old Dominion University in Virginia, USA.
