Sveva Brugnoli and Mia Pesavento Named to MVC Scholar-Athlete Team

The University of Evansville women’s swimming and diving team had two members named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team on Wednesday. Junior Sveva Brugnoli (Rome, Italy) and sophomore Mia Pesavento (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) received the honors for their work in the classroom and at the 2024 MVC Swimming & Diving Championship.

The MVC Scholar-Athlete teams are chosen based on their performance at the MVC Championships, with people with a 3.5 GPA or higher earning Scholar-Athlete Team accolades by making the MVC All-Conference Team. Individuals with a 3.7 GPA who finish in the top 16 of an individual event are eligible for MVC Scholar-Athlete Team recognition. Individuals with GPAs of 3.9 or higher who compete in the championships (including non-scorers) gain MVC Scholar-Athlete team designation. Brugnoli has a 3.77 GPA in Exercise Science at UE, and Pesavento has a 3.88 GPA in Actuarial Science at Evansville.

Overall, 66 competitors from the 2024 MVC Swimming & Diving Championships were chosen to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team.
