Russian Shelling Kills Two In Ukraine

Ukraine reported Saturday that Russian bombardment overnight and in the morning killed two elderly people in the eastern town of Krasnogorivka, and it encouraged civilians still living there to flee.

Krasnogorivka is located right on the frontline in the eastern Donetsk region, which is controlled by Russian forces and is now engaged in battle.

“The town was under enemy fire both night and morning. “A 70-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man were killed,” Donetsk regional head Vadym Filashkin wrote on social media.

“Krasnogorivka has been on the frontlines for ten years and is still one of the most dangerous sites in the country. Do not put yourself in fatal peril. “Evacuate,” he stated.

Ukrainian forces have reported “difficult” fights on the eastern front in recent months, citing ammunition shortages and Russia’s continuous air strikes.

Moscow is outgunning Kyiv sixfold on the front lines, resulting in troop and position losses, Ukraine’s newly chosen commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky warned on Friday.
