Read Lashana Lynch’s Inspiring Journey to Success

Lashana Lynch made history as the first female 007 in 2021’s No Time to Die, co-starring with Daniel Craig. Her hard work and dedication earned her a BAFTA Rising Star Award the following year, and the 36-year-old actress has since made significant progress in her career.

The most recent addition is playing Rita Marley in the highly anticipated biopic Bob Marley: One Love. Lynch, famed for her appearances in Marvel films and Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, has climbed from humble beginnings, facing challenging choices like “buying eggs, or putting money on my Oyster card.”

Despite adversity, she has drawn inspiration from it to build a successful profession. She was up in Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush, west London, and credits her modest beginnings for her strong work ethic, as reported by The Guardian.

She described how, at a young age, she discovered her voice, which served as a safe haven during difficult periods in her career.

“You want to keep going. As someone from the working class, I understand this all the more. You simply want to go, go, go. You don’t want to miss out on anything or disappoint anyone,” she explained.

Since her debut in the 2011 drama “Fast Girls,” the actress has appeared in different TV dramas such as “Silent Witness,” “Death In Paradise,” and the short-lived BBC series “Crims.”

She played Rosaline Capulet in “Still Star-Crossed,” an American period drama set after Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. Recalling her path, she stated that she landed the job of Rosaline while working as an NHS receptionist.

She shared her struggles with paying rent and using credit cards. According to her, she drowned in her overdraft after cashing in her “pay per day” for groceries.

“You have to decide: am I going to buy eggs or put money on my Oyster card?” And I had to make that decision several times,” she explained.

Lynch credited her ability to quickly identify solutions to difficulties she faces to her working-class upbringing. The British-Jamaican actress stated that she has seen how rejection has fueled the drive of people at the bottom of society and resulted in successful enterprises, delivering a powerful message to decision-makers.

Lynch expressed thanks for her part as Rita Marley in the film “Bob Marley: One Love,” which she had never anticipated.

She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the film, citing her background as a source of inspiration.

The film, released on February 14, starred Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley. The new teaser for One Love was published in December, providing fans with a sneak peak at what to expect from the highly anticipated biopic.

The full trailer for the movie recounts Bob Marley’s rise to prominence in Jamaica as a reggae icon with his band, the Wailers. It also discusses the 1976 shooting at his home, as well as his subsequent spectacular performance at a Jamaican peace concert.

“No guns can stop this message,” Ben-Adir Marley stated in the video, which featured the popular song Three Little Birds.

“Bob Marley: One Love” also honors the renowned musician and his ongoing legacy of fostering love and togetherness through music.

The film dives into Bob Marley’s path, showing audiences his capacity to overcome obstacles and his revolutionary impact on music.

He died of cancer at the age of 36 in 1981.
