Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris after a scuffle with his security, according to French officials.
The 33-year-old American celebrity is accused of assaulting a security guard who sought to separate the two men at the five-star George V hotel on Friday morning.
French prosecutors informed Reuters and AFP that they had launched a criminal inquiry into “unspecified violence” against the guard.
On Thursday evening, Mr Scott, real name Jacques Bermon Webster, was pictured during Team USA’s Olympic basketball game versus Serbia.
He was spotted alongside American billionaire Michael Rubin and fellow rapper Quavo, the former frontman of hip-hop duo Migos.
Earlier this year, Mr Scott was arrested in Miami after an incident on a yacht.
According to TMZ, prosecutors dismissed the allegation of disorderly drunkenness against him, but he remains charged with trespassing.
Mr Scott is a ten-time Grammy Award nominee and one of the world’s most successful hip-hop artists.
He was previously in a relationship with Kylie Jenner, and they have two children together.
In 2021, ten people died in a crowd surge at Scott’s Astroworld festival in Houston, Texas.
Although he did not face criminal charges for their deaths, he is still involved in civil cases claiming that the organizers were responsible.
Last year, he achieved his first UK number one album with Utopia, released a week after a cancelled gig in front of Egypt’s Pyramids.
