Premier League Star Becomes the First Footballer to Go to Rehab for Laughing Gas Addiction

An anonymous Premier League footballer has reportedly entered rehab for a laughing gas addiction.

The Premier League star is the first to undergo therapy for an addiction to Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas.

According to reports, the footballer’s family contacted the club to assist him overcome his addiction.

Nitrous oxide is commonly used at parties and can cause feelings of exhilaration and lightheadedness.

According to The Sun, a source stated that “his family became aware and asked the club for help.” The athlete was informed that if he wanted to save his career, he needed to go to a specialist residential institution and get assistance.

“He’s basically going through detox, just like you would if you were addicted to alcohol or any other addiction.

“He’s the first Premier League footballer to be treated for addiction to nitrous oxide but, given how rife its use is among players, it’s unlikely he’ll be the last.”

The source added: “One Premier League star recently celebrated his birthday and spent nearly £10,000 on canisters. Many people utilize them because they don’t want to get caught having it in their system.

“It’s happening at all clubs, and some of the people involved are well-known players. I’m not sure if any of them realize it’s now a Class C drug.

“No footballer would dream of having a stockpile of cannabis in their home, but many keep a supply of balloons for themselves and their friends. They appear to have no concept how harmful using it might be.

The Alcohol and Drug Foundation warns that nitrous oxide can lead to death due to a lack of oxygen, often known as hypoxia.

It can lead to memory loss, a compromised immune system, limb spasms, psychological reliance, and other complications.
