Peter Kay Named Britain’s Richest Comedian

Peter Kay has been voted Britain’s richest comic, worth £34.6 million.

In March 2023, the value of the Car Share star’s two enterprises decreased by £1.2 million compared to the previous year. However, he still topped a table prepared by The Sun.

And his fortunes will be bolstered by receipts from his continuing stadium tour, which runs until December of next year.

The newspaper’s investigation appears to focus solely on the value of the firms through which celebrities conduct business, rather than other assets such as real estate.

Stephen Merchant is second on the rich list with £26.2 million, up £2.5 million in a year, followed by his Office co-creator Ricky Gervais with £25.8 million.

Gervais just purchased a £14.75 million home in London and also owns a £3 million riverside mansion in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and two New York apartments.

The Sun’s list may be inadequate, as it excludes actors such as Rowan Atkinson (who continues to earn a fortune from Mr Bean) and Jimmy Carr.

But here’s their top ten:

1 Peter Kay: £34.6m, down £1.2m in a year
