Barack Obama, the former president of the United States, and his wife, Michelle, have celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on social media.
On Tuesday, the couple praised each other on their social media profiles by posting images with unique remarks.
Obama considers himself fortunate to have a “brilliant, kind, funny, and beautiful woman” as his wife.
“Happy anniversary, sweetheart! @MichelleObama, you are brilliant, kind, funny, and beautiful—and I am lucky to call you mine,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Michelle, on the other hand, said she is pleased to have Obama “by my side”.
“31 years, and a lifetime to go. I love going through life with you by my side, @BarackObama. Happy anniversary, honey!” she wrote.

Obama tied the knot with Michelle in October 1992. The lovebirds are blessed with two daughters — Malia and Sasha.
In 2020, Michelle recalled the “tough times” she once faced in her marriage to Obama.
She said they had to undergo counseling after the birth of their daughters.
“We went through a tough time, we did some hard things together,” she had said.
“But now we’re out on the other end and I can look at him and I still recognise my husband. He’s still the man I fell in love with.”
Michelle and Obama earned accolades from admirers across the globe after the duo participated in a project that saw them make furniture for school children in Malaysia.
