Oakland’s Dedra Tufon is Ms. Black USA 2024 in Washington, DC

The Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant Organization is proud to announce that Dedra Tufon, the reigning 2024 Ms. Black California USA, has been crowned the 2024 Ms. Black USA. Dedra earned the prestigious national title during a grand competition held on August 3, 2024, in Washington, D.C. This momentous achievement marks a significant milestone for Dedra and brings great pride to the California Bay Area.

Dedra’s victory is the result of her relentless dedication to promoting body diversity and mental health awareness. As the author of the highly regarded book Beauty in Body Diversity, Dedra has become a trailblazer in redefining beauty standards and advocating for self-acceptance, especially among women of color. Her platform as Ms. Black USA will allow her to continue this vital work on a national scale, addressing issues such as eating disorders and mental health that affect individuals across the country.
