Meghan Markle Recalls ‘Disturbing’ Attacks from Cyberbullies During Pregnancy

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has revealed that she was abused on social media throughout her pregnancy.

Meghan and her partner, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, currently have two children. Their names are Archie and Lilibet.

According to the BBC, Meghan spoke at an International Women’s Day event in Austin, Texas.

The former actress criticized the “seemingly endless toxicity” of social media, claiming that people have “forgotten” how to be kind.

She described it as “disturbing” that women were “spewing hatred” at one another online.

Meghan stated that she now avoids such comments for her own well-being.

“The bulk of the bullying and abuse that I was experiencing on social media and online was when I was pregnant with Archie and with Lili”, she said.

“You just think about that and wrap your head around why people would be so hateful. It is not catty, it is cruel.

“If you are reading something terrible about a woman, why are you sharing it with your friends?

“If it was your friend, or your mum or your daughter, you would not do it.

“I think that is the piece that is so lost right now (with) what is happening in the digital space and certain sections of the media.

“We have forgotten about our humanity and that has got to change.”

Harry and Meghan tied the knot in 2018.

In May 2019, the couple welcomed Archie, their first child. They had their second child, Lilibet, in June 2021.

The couple relocated to the US after stepping down as working royals in 2020.
