Mark Zuckerberg Undergoes Knee Surgery

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta Platforms, underwent surgery on November 3, 2023, due to a knee injury he sustained while training in mixed martial arts. The injury was a tear in one of his anterior cruciate ligaments

He shared a series of pictures of himself from a hospital bed, with one of his knees in an elaborate brace, on his Instagram account
In his post, he mentioned that he was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, which is now delayed due to his injury. However, he intends to continue training and fighting after his recovery
Zuckerberg has trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a self-defense martial art, for more than a year and won an amateur tournament.
He has also been studying mixed martial arts during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying the sport’s “primal” nature helped him boost his energy level as he tackles challenges at work.
In July 2023, he was awarded his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by his coach.
According to Stanford Medicine, rehabilitation for ACL surgery can take several months, with most athletes returning to full activity nine to 12 months after the procedure.
