Mark Zuckerberg Overtakes Elon Musk as the 3rd Richest Person in the World

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has amassed the world’s greatest wealth thus far in 2024.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook and Meta, has surpassed Tesla owner Elon Musk to become the world’s third richest person.

Mark Zuckerberg has joined the ranks of the world’s top three richest persons for the first time since 2020.

Mark Zuckerberg is the world’s third richest person, worth $187 billion, while Elon Musk comes in fourth with $181 billion.

Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon, comes in second with $207 billion, while Bernard Arlette of France is the world’s richest person with $223 billion.

It should be mentioned that Mark Zuckerberg dropped significantly from the list of the world’s richest persons some time ago.

In 2022, Mark Zuckerberg committed to the building of the Metaverse, which resulted in a significant financial loss.

In fact, at one point, his wealth fell by more than $100 billion, knocking him out of the top ten richest persons in the world.

Mark Zuckerberg’s wealth dipped below $35 billion in 2022, as Meta’s share price declined dramatically.

However, in 2023, Mark Zuckerberg took moves to save spending for the meta platform while focusing on the actual world.

So far, these actions have proven beneficial to the corporation, with Mark Zuckerberg’s wealth expected to climb by $58.9 billion by 2024.

In comparison, 2024 has proven to be a tough year for Elon Musk, whose wealth has dropped by $48.4 billion.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are also considered classic rivals.

In 2023, Elon Musk challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage battle for introducing Threads against X (Twitter), and the CEO of Meta agreed.

But then Mark Zuckerberg refused to join in the competition, claiming that Elon Musk isn’t serious about it.
