Maria Perrella Becomes CFO of Samuel Following John Amodeo’s Retirement

Maria Perrella has been named Chief Financial Officer of Samuel, Son & Co., a leading metals dealer and manufacturer of industrial items.

John Amodeo is replaced as CFO by Maria Perrella. Mr. Amodeo has led Samuel’s financial division since 2011 and was formerly the CFO of the company’s former public division, Samuel Manu-Tech, from 2001. Mr. Amodeo revealed his decision to retire earlier this year.

Samuel’s President and CEO, Colin Osborne, expressed his delight with Maria’s hiring, saying, “We are pleased to welcome a CFO of Maria’s caliber and experience to Samuel. Maria has proven financial leadership capabilities at top-performing industrial and technology companies. I look forward to working with her as we accelerate Samuel’s growth and overall performance.”

Reflecting on Mr. Amodeo’s retirement, Mr. Osborne added, “I would like to thank John for his longstanding service to Samuel. During his tenure, we grew and diversified the business, expanded throughout North America, and entered several new markets. This progress was possible because of the strong financial systems and teams John developed over this time. On behalf of our owners, board, and team, I would like to wish John well in retirement.”

Maria Perrella is a seasoned executive with more than three decades of innovative financial leadership expertise in both public and private worldwide organizations. Ms. Perrella previously served as Chief Financial Officer of MDA, a Canadian-based space technology firm, as well as ATS, a worldwide automation company, and the Canadian division of L3Harris (formerly Spar Aerospace Ltd.).

Ms. Perrella also serves on the boards of directors of publicly traded companies, where she provides governance and oversight. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from York University’s Schulich School of Business and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
