Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter, Zoleka Mandela, compiled a list of persons who were not permitted to attend her burial before her death, and the list has now been made public.
Thierry Bashala, her ex-husband and the father of two of her children, is on the list. Bashala had lamented her death on Instagram.
Zoleka also listed some relatives who sexually abused her. She said those on the list with a dot (.) against their names abused her sexually and are not allowed near her dead body.
She added on the list that she is close to including her sisters, dad, and stepmom to the list.
Zoleka passed away on September 25, 2023, following a lengthy struggle with cancer.
The South African author had survived cancer twice before it returned for a third time, killing her at the age of 43.
In 2011, she underwent breast cancer treatment. It reappeared in 2016, and she defeated it once more. Unfortunately, she announced in August 2022 that she had bone metastases.
She revealed that the cancer has spread to her bones and liver via her Instagram account, where she tracks her struggle.
She died earlier this week, leaving four children behind. The activist had six children but lost two.
