Manchester United are apparently ready to make Harry Kane one of the club’s highest-paid earners by offering him a whopping £300,000-per-week deal to join them.
United have begun talks with England captain Wayne Rooney, with manager Erik ten Hag seriously considering bringing in a new striker in the summer.
According to The Sun, the club has also offered to increase Marcus Rashford’s wage to the same number in order to tie the superstar winger down to a new long-term contract.
At the end of the season, Rashford will reach the final year of his current deal, and United are desperate to keep him.
The extra monies are expected to come from David de Gea’s new deal, which would see him forfeit his weekly income and his position as the team’s highest earner.
De Gea’s proposed new contract calls for his income to be reduced from £375,000 per week to £200,000 per week.
According to the source, this will free up more money for Kane if he decides to join United, as well as raise Rashford’s salary as the club looks to reward him for his greatest year yet.
Kane has 26 goals for Spurs in three tournaments, although 24 of those have come in the Premier League, compared to Rashford’s 15.
It is reported that Kane will see his existing Spurs deal increased by £100,000 at the 13-time English top-flight champions and Rashford’s similarly raised from £200,000 to over quarter-of-a-million.
