King Charles Remembers Queen Elizabeth on U.K. Mother’s Day

On his first Mother’s Day without Queen Elizabeth, King Charles remembers her with a sweet throwback photo.

Charles, 74, shared an image of him and the late Queen, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96, in a new Instagram post uploaded via the Royal Family’s official account.

The tweet also included a photo of Queen Camilla and her mother, Rosalind Shand, who passed away in 1994.

The first image, from the Royal Collection Trust, shows an infant King Charles and a young Queen Elizabeth, who is proudly holding him in her lap. The other image depicts the Queen Consort, 75, smiling with her mother.

Together with the photographs, the couple added a heartfelt note commemorating their mothers and all mothers on Mothering Sunday, which is observed in the United Kingdom this year on March 19.

“To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special #MothersDay,” they wrote.
