King Charles Confirmed to Harry that Archie and Lilibet Would be Allowed to Use Their Prince and Princess Titles

In a ‘secret chat’ following the Queen’s funeral last year, the King reportedly assured Prince Harry that his children will be able to be addressed as Prince and Princess.

Lilibet, Harry and Meghan’s 21-month-old daughter, received the royal title ‘Princess’ for the first time yesterday, providing the first hint that the Sussexes will use the titles for their children.

After speculations that the King would forbid the children from becoming princes or princesses, the move is considered as an olive branch.

According to royal sources, Charles would never have ‘punished’ his grandchildren in such a way.

Notwithstanding the Sussexes’ persistent attacks on the monarchy and members of the Royal Family, it is claimed that correspondence on the subject has taken place between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and royal officials.

When the King ascended to the throne, Harry and Meghan’s children became prince and princess, but have remained a plain’master’ and’miss’ on the Buckingham Palace website for the past six months.

Lili was baptized on March 3 in a private ceremony at the Sussexes’ home in Montecito, California, as ‘Princess Lilibet Diana,’ according to a statement from the couple’s spokesman yesterday.

‘The right dialogues took place ahead of Lilibet’s christening,’ a source told the Mirror.

It was also learned that the pair will only use the title in ceremonial occasions and not in regular speech. As a result, she will most likely continue to be referred to as ‘Lilibet’ in most settings.

Harry and Meghan are said to be determined not to deprive their children of their birthright, but to give them the opportunity to decide for themselves when they are older whether they want to drop or keep the titles.

On the royal website, she is currently referred to as ‘Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor’ by Buckingham Palace.

The Palace said its website ‘will now be amended in due course’ to reflect the titles, which elevate Lilibet to the status of princess.
