Ibrahimovic Becomes Euro Qualifying’s Oldest Player

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a 41-year-old Swedish striker, became the oldest player to appear in a European Championship qualifier on Friday.

Ibrahimovic established the record in the 73rd minute of the Euro 2024 group game against Belgium at Solna.

He has already surpassed former Italian goalie Dino Zoff, who played against Sweden on May 29, 1983, at the age of 41 years, five months, and 21 days.

This weekend, AC Milan’s Ibrahimovic became the league’s oldest player to score a goal.

He claimed earlier this week that he intends to play in the Euro championships in Germany next year, when he will be 42 and the oldest player ever to compete in the competition.
