Quincy Howard, a sophomore at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia, made history when he won nearly $70,000 on Wheel of Fortune after correctly guessing the bonus round question.
Howard appeared on the show on November 28th as part of an ongoing college-week series. He had taken the lead and was already up to $35,750 as the bonus round began.
In the bonus round, Howard got 10 seconds to solve a puzzle from the “People” category. When Howard correctly replied “Kids at play,” the timer started immediately.
According to the Georgia Tech News Center, Howard was surprised to learn that he had won a Mini Cooper. He also took home a total of $69,600 in cash.
Howard, a high school distinction graduate and valedictorian of the Class of 2021, is overjoyed with his great win. His former high school also applauded him, writing on Facebook, “Way to go Quincy!!!” You dominated on Wheel of Fortune! You keep shining the Green and Gold with Irish Pride!”
