Even though Florida is a popular tourist destination all year, we continue to top lists of the finest summer vacation destinations. According to a popular TV show, one Florida beach is the most cheap beach resort in the United States.
The news comes from GoodMorningAmerica, who recently released their list of the 11 most affordable beach destinations in the U.S.
“Now that summer is in full swing, soaring temps have us craving a refreshing beach with cooling breezes to beat the heat,” they state in the article. “Unfortunately, with so many Americans thinking the same thing, finding an affordable beach getaway can be difficult.”
So, they conducted a “ton of research to create this list of the 11 most budget-friendly beach destinations in the U.S. Staying stateside saves you money on travel, and these locales go a step further with several value-packed hotels, inexpensive activities and cheap dining options.” They claim that all of the beaches on the list are affordable.
Florida has two entries on the list. Delray Beach is ranked ninth. The site says of the location, “It’s well-known for ‘The Avenue,’ where visitors can find value-friendly hotels, restaurants, and lively bars.” The prestigious Pensacola Beach takes the top spot. “While several hotels sit along Pensacola Beach, travelers can save some money by staying in Pensacola proper and driving 15 to 20 minutes to the sand,” they write about this coastal region. “There are numerous sunken ships for divers, as well as air shows by the Blue Angels, an elite crew of jet-fighter pilots.”
