Angelia Tutt and her husband, Elliott McNeil, welcomed their second pair of twins in March, a year after their first set was born.
The 29-year-old mother, who already has a 6-year-old daughter and 13-month-old twin sons, was astonished to learn she was pregnant with twins instead of just one.
She told ‘Good Morning America‘, “I had visions where I was cradling a girl with little pink bows. I was ready. I was deciding on girl names and everything.”
“It was definitely a surprise. We both expected only one kid, so when they called to tell me it was twins, I literally froze on the phone… I just started bawling. It was happy tears, but I was still shocked.”
Tutt shared that her mother had two sets of twins, including herself and her fraternal twin brother, and that her grandmother and great-grandmother also had twins.
Tutt had a cesarean section on March 3 at the Cone Health Women’s & Children’s Center at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, with her second set of fraternal twins, Kendrick and Kairo.
Tutt and her twins received care from medical staff, including a doctor, nurse, and respiratory therapist.
After two weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit, the boys, weighing five pounds and eight ounces, were finally home.
She remarked, “They’ve been adapting fairly well. I’m very sure they’re attempting to find out what the other kids are making such loud noises about.”
Despite her hectic schedule, a full house, and the habit of doing everything twice, the mother of five anticipates that “it’s just going to be an adventure with them.”
