Floyd Mayweather has one of the world’s most enviable boxing records. He has fought 50 times and has won each time. The Black American has become one of the highest-paid athletes in the last decade.

Mayweather won the WBC lightweight title in 2002, the WBC super lightweight title in 2005, and the IBF, IBO, WBC, and IBA welterweight titles in 2006. In 2007, he won the WBC super welterweight title by defeating Oscar De La Hoya.

His incredible ring success increased his earnings. Forbes named him the highest-paid athlete in 2019. He reportedly earned $915 million in ten years with no major sponsorship or pay from anyone. In addition, he earned $115 million more than any other athlete.

The boxer’s earnings skyrocketed during his fights with Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor. In 2015, he faced Pacquiao, and in 2017, he faced McGregor. Both fights cost him more than $500 million.

After his fight with McGregor, the boxer retired, but he recently came out of retirement to fight Youtuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul at the Hardrock Stadium in Miami. According to reports, he earned more than $100 million from the exhibition match.

Mayweather has a net worth of $450 million, according to celebritynetworth.com. According to the website, his total career earnings are estimated to be $1.1 billion. Mayweather is an extravagant spender. In 2018, he paid $10 million for an 11-bedroom, 22,000-square-foot custom-built mansion in Las Vegas. In 2019, he paid $9.5 million for a 13,000-square-foot mansion in Las Vegas. He also spent $25.5 million on a Beverly Hills mansion, according to Celebrity Net Worth. He is said to have spent $500,000 on home furnishings.

In a recent interview with the Earn Your Leisure podcast, he revealed one of his unknown New York investments. He claims to own nine skyscrapers in New York City. One Vanderbilt, a 93-story skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, is one of the skyscrapers. According to reports, it is the fourth-tallest building in New York and is worth $3.3 billion. After three years of construction, the building will be completed in 2020.

In January 2022, Travis D. Hughes, a real estate lawyer, said there were rumors that the boxer had invested $50 million in One Vanderbilt, making him one of the most prominent Black commercial real estate investors in the world. Aside from his skyscrapers, Mayweather is also a casino investor. He has partnered with SL Green to develop Caesars Palace Times Square.

“Just in New York alone, I got nine skyscrapers. I got a casino coming to New York City in Times Square,” Mayweather explained. He continued: “One of the buildings I own is the tallest commercial building in America [One Vanderbilt]. So if you get a chance, go to New York and check it out. This is my ninth sky scraper.”

After winning three national Golden Gloves and an Olympic bronze medal, Mayweather turned professional in 1996. In 1998, he won his first championship as a super featherweight. He has not lost a fight since.

Mayweather’s family has a long history with boxing. His father and uncles inspired him to start boxing when he was born on February 24, 1977, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Floyd Sr., his father, was a welterweight contender, and Jeff Mayweather, his uncle, is a former IBO super featherweight champion. Roger Mayweather, another uncle, is a former WBA super featherweight and WBC super lightweight champion.
