Eugene Gyasi Agyemang, a graduate student in chemistry/biochemistry and materials science and engineering, has received a generous travel grant from the Joint US-Africa Materials Institute (JUAMI) program to attend the African Materials Research Society’s 12th International Conference (AMRS2024) in Kigali, Rwanda. He will give an oral presentation about his study in “Nanoelectrochemistry” at the University of Arkansas.
The JUAMI program, funded by the US National Science Foundation, Northwestern University’s McCormick College of Engineering’s Global Initiatives Program, and the International Center for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, aims to foster materials research collaborations between Africa and the US, among other countries.
“I am deeply honored and encouraged to receive this recognition,” Agyemang said. “Thanks to my adviser, Dr. M.A Edwards, for his support.”
