In a tweet on Saturday, Musk said verified users on Twitter will have access to 6,000 posts daily.

The billionaire added that unverified and new users will be allowed to read daily 600 and 300 posts, respectively.

Musk said the reason for the limitation is to “address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.”

A few hours later, the Twitter CEO said the cap was raised to 10,000 posts per day for verified users, 1,000 posts for unverified and 500 posts for new unverified users.

Musk’s announcement, however, attracted a wave of backlash from users of the microblogging platform.

“Bro why did you Even Purchased this app when you can’t handle it,” Ace wrote.

Another user identified as Theresa Rein wrote: “Does anyone in your group of advisors ever say No to you?, “That action will create the following unwanted consequences?”

Hedgehog Cabin wrote: “Whatever you’ve done is hurting genuine users and is having a negative effect to verified users. My followers can’t like my tweets because they’ve hit a limit of liking.”

Kathleen wrote: “My interaction level is way down because of this nonsense. My followers are all interacting with me more on other platforms. Seems pretty backwards to me.”

Lawyer wrote: “Twitter is officially dead.”

George wrote: “Everyone going to Instagram once their rate limit exceeds #riptwitter.”

Another user called Bryan Behar said, “From the day Musk took over, I no longer see any of my favorite accounts in my feed. And I’ve lost 15 thousand followers. Way to make an app profoundly less fun!”
