Drake’s charitable actions do not appear to be slowing down anytime soon. The 36-year-old pop musician shocked the fans during his homecoming concert in Toronto by giving away a luxury automobile to one lucky fan in the audience.
This Drake habit comes as no surprise to many entertainment fans. During his “It’s All a Blur Tour,” he is known for lavishly showering supporters with presents ranging from designer bags to cash stashes. Drake, on the other hand, astonished everyone by modifying his strategy this time.
He departed from his usual fan gifting tradition by randomly selecting the recipient this time, as reported by Billboard. In a viral video posted by one of the fans, Drake said “This is what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna pick a winning ticket out of this drum here. I want everybody to be super quiet.”
He then dipped his hand into a transparent container full of slips of paper and selected the lucky receipt for the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. The crowd erupted as he mentioned the winning seat, 17483, which was located on the venue’s upper level.
Drake’s present, a base model G 550 SUV, is listed on the Mercedes-Benz website for $139,900. This gesture comes just a few weeks after he gave a fan $50,000 during his Miami performance after seeing a sad placard. “I spent all my savings buying tickets for me and my ex, but Honestly, Nevermind, it’s really Her Loss.”
“You know what? She’s gonna feel real f–ked up ’cause I’ma give you 50 bands, so you gon’ flex on her tonight,” Drake told the fan.
Drake has made headlines for his acts of kindness, such as donating a honeymoon vacation to a newlywed couple that missed out on such an essential bonding opportunity to attend his event. He has, however, received some criticism for his recent album, “For All The Dogs.” It provoked outrage because of lyrics that fans interpret as insults against his former flame, Rihanna, and her new partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.
Drake constantly repeats the word “Anti” in his song “Fear of Heights,” which is the title of Rihanna’s Billboard 200 No. 1 album from 2016. He goes on to make veiled references to her native Barbados and her honorary Parsons degree. He didn’t stop there, but continued in the lyrics with an indirect dig at A$AP Rocky.
