Chance the Rapper and Wife Split After 5 Years of Marriage

Chance the artist, a US artist, and his wife of five years, Kirsten Corley, have announced their divorce.

The couple revealed their divorce on Chance’s Instagram story on Wednesday.

Chance and Kirsten thanked each other for their time together. They stated that they are devoted to coparenting their two girls.

The couple also requested privacy as they transitioned into the next stage of their lives.

“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways,” the statement reads.

“We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.

“God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you.”

The two initially met when Chance was nine years old.

They started dating as adults in 2013 and had Kensil, their first child together, in 2015.

Chance and Kirsten broke up in 2016, but reconciled in 2018.

They got married in March 2019.

The wedding served as the inspiration for Chance’s 2019 album ‘The Big Day’. The most of the songs were about his wife and children.

The rapper addressed the day he first saw his wife, while she was performing a song as a precocious 9-year-old, in the album’s tune ‘Zanies and Fools’.

The couple welcomed their second daughter, Marli, in September 2019.
