Blair Caldwell is being recognized for his great work on Beyoncé’s “Act II: Cowboy Carter” album cover.

Caldwell was born and raised in Tyler, Texas, and began photography in his junior year of high school. He was inspired by music videos, publications, album covers, and award events, and wanted to share his vision with the world.
After going to Los Angeles, he discovered his passion for photographing Black women, which transformed his career path.
Caldwell’s portfolio includes stunning photographs that precisely capture the individuality and spirit of his subjects, ranging from his first renowned client, R&B singer Chrisette Michele, to his meetings with Beyoncé and Taraji P. Henson.
In a 2021 interview with CR Fashion Book, Caldwell discussed his first experiences working with Beyoncé. He described the exhilarating and nerve-racking times behind the camera, adding, “I thought I was going to be surrounded by security… but it was super laid back.”
