At 19, Haley Taylor Schlitz Made History As The Youngest Black Graduate Of SMU Law School

 

Haley Taylor Schlitz is a young and accomplished lawyer who has made a name for herself. Haley graduated from high school in 2016 and began her undergraduate studies at Tarrant County Community College’s Northeast campus at the age of 13. Haley applied to and was accepted to over 15 undergraduate institutions as a transfer student after one year at TCC.

She chose to attend the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University, where she not only excelled academically but also set records. She graduated from the institution with honors in May 2022, making her the university’s youngest-ever student and the law school’s youngest black graduate.

Haley credits her success to her mother, who has been her most powerful motivator and supporter. Her mother, an ER doctor, has been an inspiration and source of guidance for her throughout her journey.
