Nina Perpetua Aguas was also appointed as Lead Independent Director, a member of the Board’s Executive Committee, and Chair of the Risk and Related Party Transactions Committee. In addition, Daniel Teichert was named Chief Risk Management Officer by the corporation.

Monde Nissin Corp., which makes Lucky Me! Instant Noodles and SkyFlakes Crackers, made the statement in a Friday filing, indicating that Chua has taken over for Romeo Bernardo, who just joined the Monetary Board.

Chua is the Chair of the Board’s Audit Committee and a member of the Risk and Related Party Transactions Committee, as well as the Corporate Governance, Nominations, and Remuneration Committee in her capacity as a director.

Chua opted to leave PLDT early in April after more than 20 years of service, citing the telecom company’s P48 billion budget problems. Following then, PLDT emphasized that there was no fraud involved.

On Friday, the company’s shares climbed 4.09 percent to P9.17 per share on the announcement of Chua’s appointment at Monde. Monde reported a nearly 18 percent drop in net profits in the first half of the year, mostly owing to restructuring expenditures in the meat alternative sector. Sales fell in the second quarter as consumer costs rose, according to the business.
