An Amazon driver in Georgia lost his job after a customer claimed he tried to take their family dog. Terrika Currence from Henry County, suburban Atlanta, stated that her daughter witnessed the driver lure their red nose pitbull into his delivery truck.
The event was captured on film, causing Currence to speak out, adding, “as I opened the door to put the package in the house, and the dog food, my daughter screams and says, ‘The Amazon guy stole our puppy!'”
She instantly confronted the driver and recorded her dog inside the truck. In the footage, woman is heard furiously saying, “F—g Amazon done took my f—g dog out of my f—g yard!” According to the New York Post, the owner discovered her pet inside the truck when she opened the rear door.
“When I opened the truck, he had the puppy in a bin. “I had to grab the puppy and get him off the truck,” Currence explained.
“He was ready to pull off with our dog,” she added, adding that “he didn’t give any explanation” regarding his actions.
Currence reported how the Amazon driver complimented her dog’s attractiveness and expressed a desire for a puppy. The incident caused terror in her daughter, who now avoids delivery trucks for fear of losing her puppy.
An Amazon representative apologized to the customer and stated that the firm was pleased that their puppy was returned safely.
“The driver involved is no longer delivering for Amazon and we’ve reached out to law enforcement to assist as they investigate,” a spokeswoman for Amazon said.
Currence stated, “It gives me relief that he’s been dismissed, but if he’s doing stuff like that, you know it’s in his nature. “He will do it again.”
Henry County police are investigating the incident.
