Aging Gracefully: 61-Year-Old Bodybuilder Aims for Another ‘Ms. Olympia’ Title

Sheryl Grant, a 61-year-old professional bodybuilder, has proclaimed her intention to reclaim the title of Ms. Olympia. According to News Nation, she first claimed the title at the age of 55. She is presently rehearsing for first place in this year’s competition.

She expressed her intention on Instagram, writing, “On this journey to Ms. Olympia at 60+, my goal is to reach 50 million people around the globe, letting them know that age is just a number and that they can achieve their goals at any age!”

In another post, the fitness fanatic noted, “Starting the journey to Ms. Olympia for the second time is difficult, but it has opened my eyes in ways I never thought imaginable.”

Grant told BET about her road to Ms. Olympia and how she became interested in bodybuilding after seeing her roommate do it. She admitted that when she entered the Ms. Olympia competition, she didn’t expect to win. She added that she chose this tournament because it is all-natural, meaning no pills or drugs are used throughout the competition.

In addition to achieving her current goal, Grant encourages others to join her FIT for Life network and begin working toward their own personal fitness goals. She founded the award-winning platform to help people alter both their brains and bodies.

According to her website, the fitness queen is the world’s premier AgeTech evangelist, spearheading programs focused on female entrepreneurship.

She told BET, “The competition didn’t just transform my body. It transformed my mind. And I came up with something called FIT, which stands for faith, intuition, and tenacity. I realized that when I was on that journey in corporate America, systemic systems were built against me, but I had also built those same systems in my mind. I had started to believe that I wasn’t worthy or capable. I couldn’t do it. Winning Ms. Olympia at 55 taught me that there’s nothing impossible for me to do in my life. ”

The 61-year-old has also written a book called ‘Fit for Life,’ which aims to mentally motivate those who want to attain their fitness goals.
