Tyson Fury’s first comments since Oleksandr Usyk fight’s death were strong on venom and lacking on substance.
In an Instagram story posted on Thursday, WBC champion Fury is shown insulting the WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO champion a “coward,” dismissing his looks, and implying that the Ukrainian will now have to settle for a “two o’ bucks” against his mandatory challenger, Daniel Dubois.
Usyk-Fury is the latest significant boxing match to fall through, following last year’s failed negotiations between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. for the undisputed welterweight title.
After months of intense discussions, promoters for the undisputed heavyweight championship decided to split ways Wednesday, effectively ending any possibility of the match taking place on the scheduled date of April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London.
As Usyk accepted Fury’s ultimatum of a 70/30 split, a battle appeared to be on the horizon. However, there was more debate about the divide in a prospective rematch (on UK soil only), which the loser would have the ability to invoke. According to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, Usyk demanded a 70/30 split in the rematch, while Fury requested a 50/50 split.
Usyk, who appears to have abandoned his training camp, may now focus on fulfilling a mandatory request, which might involve Daniel Dubois, the British heavyweight sponsored by Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, which also supports Fury. Another top contender for one of Usyk’s belts, heavyweight Joe Joyce, could be an alternative.
“Usyk, you little sh!thouse,” Fury said. “You proper little sh!thouse. You bug-eyed, buck-toothed, ugly little rat bastard. You little slimy f—er. Tried all week to get out of it, begging for a rematch like a little girl. You got your rematch then, and you didn’t even want to fight with that.
“You little sh!thouse, p—y. Always know, p—y, that you are never man enough to tangle with the Gypsy King ever in your life, you little sh!thouse. You little fourteen-stone coward. You little sh!thouse. You rat little bastard. And your full team know it as well.
“And all the lawyers have full information. You little ugly bastard. Keep running. Fight [Daniel] Dubois now for a couple o’ bucks, sh!tbag, and always know that you are anybody else like you could never tangle with the Gypsy King, you sh!thouse little coward.”
Alexander Krassyuk, the promoter of Usyk, informed talkSPORT on Wednesday that there was no point in continuing discussions so long as Fury continued to come up with a list of unreasonable demands.
