Following his recent arraignment, Hollywood actor Jonathan Majors’ assault and harassment charges are expected to be dropped.
Majors was arrested on domestic violence charges last Saturday in New York following a dispute with a 30-year-old woman, who was transported to the hospital with “minor injuries to her head and neck,” according to authorities.
The Marvel star was charged with offences including two counts of third-degree assault, second-degree aggravated harassment, and attempted third-degree assault. His team has disputed the allegations.
According to the DA’s office, a judge released Majors on his own recognizance and issued him a limited order of protection.
The female complainant is not named in the complaint, but the defendant is accused of “striking her about the face with an open hand, causing severe discomfort and a laceration behind her ear.”
In addition, she claims the defendant “placed his hand on her neck, inflicting bruises and significant agony.”
Priya Chaudhry, the actor’s attorney, stated during a press conference about the incident that there are “”The woman has issued two written statements in which she denies these charges.”
Priya further stated that they are providing evidence to the DA, which includes “video footage from the vehicle in which this incident occurred, witness statements from the driver and others who saw and heard the incident.”
Priya also expects the charges to be dropped.
