Zimbabwean Government Bans Jerry Cans, Drums and Containers

Government has banned the use of containers, jerry cans and drums, Energy and Power Development Minister Joram Gumbo (pictured) has said.

“Those using tanks, drums and jerry cans; all those forms of containers should stop and we are sending out inspectors and the Zimbabwe Republic Police and if anybody is going to be found maybe overcharging or using drums might have their licenses withdrawn. We are not going to allow that,” Gumbo told state media.

The arbitrary ban will likely inconvenience those who run out of fuel away from a fuel station as well as those using generators and earthmoving equipment.
