Zambian Police Commission Bans Miniskirts for Policewomen

Zambian police have banned policewoman’s mini-skirts because of public concern, reports facetofaceafrica.

Zambia’s Deputy Police Commissioner for Legal and Professional Standards Charity Chanda said the ban is aimed at protecting the professional status of the force.


She said the police have a prescribed length for women’s uniforms. “How long is your skirt if you’re a policewoman? We saw many women officers wear a mini-skirt as uniform  .

Ms. Chanda said policewomen should be guided by the core values ​​of service to minimize or eliminate the continued receipt of public complaints.
