World’s Most Expensive Dessert Costs $9.85m

When you need to cut costs during budgeting, one of the first things that you slice off is the number of meals you eat out. You are encouraged to cook your own meals including shopping your groceries. With the meals in this category, you may need extra income or more lunch money (as if!).

The Strawberries Arnaud

Certainly no one can a r g u e with the b e a u t y of living life in the present, but with this dessert that comes with the same price tag as a yacht, one would definitely be pushing the envelope on having a taste for living ‘la vida loca’.

Even though the strawberries used in this dish are locally sourced, the various expensive liquors and champagnes used to get just the right flavour profile as well as the scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and 24-carat gold flakes added on top with a flourish, this dessert easily takes the cake (no pun intended) at a whopping $9.85m.

Perhaps in a bid to convince you to spend this amount, they throw in additional pizzazz by way of serving; at the base of the plate in an ornate box is a 10.06-carat royal blue diamond engagement ring from MS Rau Antiques. Now you know how to get a definite yes from your lady. This is on the menu at a French Creole restaurant in New Orleans called Arnaud’s Restaurant. My guess is you would need to pay an advance to the restaurant, in advance.

The Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel Chocolate Pudding


This is a dessert that was made for the sole purpose of creating the most expensive chocolate pudding in the world. Chef Marc Guibert of the Lindeth Howe Country House Hotel in England tried to replicate the Faberge egg by mixing some of the most delicious caviar, chocolates and edible gold around.

The chef requires three weeks’ notice for this dessert as anyone would to be able to serve up gold and champagne caviar, four different flavored Belgian chocolates, and, a covering of edible gold leaf. It is also accompanied by 2-carat diamond and a bottle of Chateau d’Yquem champagne which normally would cost $700. The dessert is priced at $34,000. Businessman, Carl Weininger, has had this pudding; you may want to ask him if it was worth it since it was revenge against his girlfriend who had dumped him. Talk about revenge being sweet!

The Frrrozen Haute Chocolate

T h i s happens to be a dessert s e r v e d at the S e r e n – dipity 3 restaurant in N e w Y o r k and is made from 28 high end chocolates from South America and Africa.

As if the cavity inducing dessert is not decadent enough, it is topped with 23-carat gold shavings and truffles flown from France, served in a crystal goblet lined with gold. Not only do they serve you with so much gold inside so much gold, it comes with a gold spoon designed with white and chocolate diamonds and an 18-carat gold bracelet wrapped around the goblet. All these extra accessories can be taken home with you after the meal. At this point, one is not sure if you should eat or wear this meal. Perhaps that is why you will be served a bill of $25,000.
