World Cup 2026: Why Liberia Will Not Give Morocco Its Voice; “Many Liberians living in the US”

We are in the final stretch of the vote for the choice of the next country to host the World Cup football in 2026. A few weeks of this fateful day, Morocco has lost a new voice on the continent. This is Liberia.

In a statement released on Friday, Musa Bility, the president of the Liberian Football Federation (LFA), hinted that Liberia will not make a leap to the USA with whom it shares many stories. This decision informs it, is a recommendation of the Head of State, George Weah.

Bility said that the long tradition of relations between Liberia and the United States, the many Liberians living in the US and the impact that the World Cup would have on the country have confirmed this decision“, reads in a communicated.

It is not the first African country to declare that it would not vote for Morocco after including South Africa. According to information, a dozen countries on the continent would choose bid United 2026 at the expense of Morocco 2026 for political reasons.

Candidate for the 5th time to organize the World Cup to be in 48 countries, the country of Mohamed VI will have to increase its lobbying. The vote to know the host country of the 2026 World Cup will be held on June 13 in Moscow.
