World Bank: Concerns Are Being Raised On The Debts Owed By These African Countries

The International Monetary Fund has raised concerns about the debt burden of some African countries between 2010 and now.

The issue was brought to the table during the just ended World Bank annual meeting held to discuss poverty reduction, economic development and finance.


Good debt management is essential to economic development. The World Bank’s debt experts oversee debt relief, advise countries on how to structure and schedule debt, and help countries fit their debt into sustainable fiscal planning

The burden -which affects mostly sub Saharan African countries clouds the emergence ambition of the nations concerned

The debts are going higher by each year for these African countries and it is pulling back the development due these African Countries.
