Before the wedding Kensington Palace released a statement on behalf of the couple.
It said: “It should be noted that gifts cannot be brought to St George’s Chapel or the Reception that follows at Windsor Castle. Guests are advised to seek further guidance on delivery arrangements for any gifts to Kensington Palace.”
Royals are not allowed to receive gifts that may be given to them in a bit to gain some free advertising.
The Palace added: “When gifts are accepted, the consent of the Member of the Royal Familyshould be contingent upon the enterprise undertaking not to exploit the gift for commercial purposes.
“Gifts offered by private individuals living in the UK not personally known to the Member of the Royal Family should be refused where there are concerns about the propriety or motives of the donor or the gift itself.”

These strict rules are the reason why much of Camilla Parker Bowles’s jewellery will belong to Prince William, 35, one day.
When the recipient of a gift dies it is up to the monarch to decide if the gift is kept or given away.
On the other hand the pieces can be incorporated into the Royal Collection.
